MNDi Foundation charity prize sells for $15K using Openn Negotiation

The major charity prize for the annual Racing for MNDi Soiree sold for $15,000 this week, 50 percent more than last year’s result, using the real estate sales platform Openn Negotiation.

Held at Crown Perth on the 10th of December 2018, the annual event is part of the MNDi Foundation's efforts to raise money to find a cure for the inherited form of Motor Neuron Disease.

Three bidders battled it out for the opportunity to secure the major prize which included:

  • #1 VIP table with Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo for the evening.
  • Three-course dinner, plus matching wines.
  • Pre-dinner meet-and-greet with Daniel Ricciardo to take pictures and sign memorabilia.
  • 5 overnight stays at Crown Towers Perth.

Last year, this prize sold via a normal negotiation for $10,000, so to have eclipsed that amount by $5,000 is a fantastic result for the MNDi Foundation and a testament to the effectiveness of the Openn Negotiation platform.

While Openn was developed for the real estate industry, the technology is easily adapted for use in charity auctions to achieve the best possible price for an item by maximising the number of buyers that can participate.

Charity auctions are generally done as part of a gala dinner, where the main bidders are limited to those physically at the function and in the room at the point the auction is conducted.

However, with Openn, the charity auction can commence weeks before the gala dinner. Bidders are not limited to those who are in the room that night, and the link to the platform can be sent to the charity’s entire database, allowing thousands of people to actively compete to purchase the auction items.

Openn is delighted to have worked with the MNDi Foundation on this innovative new approach to their charity auction.
